The changes planned in the life of EIS Program in 2008 were realised in 2009. As a result of the joint work of the EIS Committee and Office, and the institutions’ library leaders and contact persons, EIS National Consortium has been launched. Despite of the smaller difficulties, users could not experience particular problems.
The official birthday of EIS Consortium is April 21, 2009. On that day the program was changed into a consortium that embraces a lot wider circle of participants. Users may access databases applied for and supported by their own institutions; member institutions have to contribute with their own resource to the subscription fees of databases within the framework of EIS.
The users of particular institutions can find the services available for them on the home page, after entering. In case you find any problems in relation to this, or you have any questions, please write an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The databases applied for by the institutions will be accessed by the users uninterruptedly and without disturbances, continuously, according to our expectations.
The databases supported by EIS consortium in 2010 are the following:
ACM Digital Library
Akadémiai Journal Collection
Food Science and Technology Abstracts (FSTA)
Web of Science
Negotiations about Academic Dictionaries are still carried on, but during this period the database can be accessed for the ones who applied for them.
Serving JSTOR will be launched, too, according to our plans till the end of the first quarter.
Scriptum specialised dictionaries and ‘Tesztre készen’ services are still accessible for the institutions that have used them until now because EIS has bought these earlier for ground-price.
We have not purchased Lecture Notes in Computer Science since 2009. The contents paid for between 1997-2008 are still accessible for the previous subscribers.
We celebrated the 10th anniversary of Electronic Information Service with the participation of international guest speakers.
Educatio Public Service Non-profit LLC, the Library of the Hungarian University of Fine arts, with the cooperation of EBSCO Publishing have the honour to invite You to the Art & Architecture Complete users’ training.
