We celebrated the 10th anniversary of Electronic Information Service with the participation of international guest speakers.
The Consortium Members’ Special Meeting on December 2, 2011 did not address only the current matters of the consortium, but it had a plenty of inspiring professional lectures. After the welcoming addresses of the Managing Director of Educatio Public Services Non-profit LLC, and the Principal Private Secretary to the Ministry of National Resources, the English and Lithuanian guest speakers painted an international picture to the consortium members by sharing their own experiences in organising a consortium and describing their own activities. The representatives of the largest international publishing houses explored the several facets of Hungarian academic life in international comparison, from the viewpoints of proportions of branches of science, usage of literature and citation indices, and they explored the different learning strategies of the Google generation and their strategies of using the computer, and finally about the challenge the librarian profession have to face, as the result of this change. Dr. Károly Kokas recalled the most important stations and actors of road taken in the past 10 years, from the beginnings when the original concept was outlined.
