An Elsevier SciVerse e-book collection, which involves 1192 e-books, can be accessed by higher education and research institutions from September 2012. Access for authorised institutes is ensured by Educatio Public Services Non-profit LLC.
The service can be accessed at the following link by authorised institutions, from nominated IP addresses which are approved by the publisher. (We plan to change for the personal authentication system in 2013, so accessing these contents will be more comfortable then.) Please note that full-text access is possible only to titles signed with ‘green key’ and ‘green box’. It is useful to start our search with limiting to books, and to subject area. It is practical to click on the name of the document or on the PDF icon to download. Book titles can be accessed quickest by limiting search to subject area. Hits are enlisted in alphabetical order.
Subject areas of the e-book collection:
Books can be accessed, downloaded and printed in HTML or PDF formats. In the case of books published before 2008, contents can be accessed only in PDF format. In HTML format the table of contents, outer (other SciVerse databases) and inner (within the given document) references are linked.
Marc 21 records are free for authorised users; detailed OCLC records, which are accompanied by LOC keywords, which can be ordered and uploaded easily. Books are supplied with Dublin Core Meta data.
Books contain multimedia and other supplementary contents besides textual information (in XML files: audio, video, and multimedia contents).
