Friday, June 05, 2009 - EISZ

Dear Users,

Many of you have noticed that conference proceedings cannot be reached in Web of Science. We had a free trial opportunity under the name ISI Proceedings for six months last year, which expired officially at the end of last year, however it could be used for a while even in 2009. Our Web of Science subscription does not contain this index now.

ISI Proceedings has been turned into Conference Proceedings Citation Index, and it has been integrated into Web of Science database.

This means for users the following: when we see the number of citations (times cited) of an article, it contains all citations, even the ones that can be found in Conference Proceedings. So it might happen that 64 citations are signalled in the database, but when clicking onto it we find only 62 on the list. The remaining two might be either conference proceedings material or some content before 1975.

Further information can be found in Web of Science in the help offered on the right hand side.

Kind regards,

EIS Office
